Flyover Country

Fraught with fear, hardship and uncertainty, my work reveals another, celebratory side of the immigrant’s journey. South Indian flower garlands, typically used in weddings and festivals are here used in the service of both figuration and a play on the Modernist grid. The work serves as a testament to the challenge and triumphs inherent in immigration in America.
